At School Safe, we’re growing fast—and we’re looking for a National Account Manager to take our customer relationships and business development efforts to the next level.

Position Overview

As the National Account Manager & Business Development Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our retail footprint and deepening relationships with key accounts across Canada and beyond. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute sales strategies, drive growth with existing customers, and identify new channel opportunities to scale the brand. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on ownership, collaboration, and results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and grow national retail accounts by developing tailored business plans and promotional strategies
  • Build strong relationships with key buyers, category managers, and distribution partners
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across retail, foodservice, and emerging channels
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams on go-to-market strategies, innovation launches, and brand initiatives
  • Negotiate trade terms, manage budgets, and deliver profitable growth
  • Analyze sales data, category insights, and competitive activity to inform account strategies
  • Lead line reviews, joint business planning, and promotional planning with key accounts
  • Represent the brand at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
  • Provide ongoing forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking for national accounts
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in national account management and business development within the CPG food industry
  • Proven success managing major retail customers and driving year-over-year growth
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in sales forecasting, trade spend management, and P&L understanding
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain)
  • Passion for food and consumer trends—bonus if familiar with the allergen-friendly or health-forward space
