Position:

As an Multiskilled Electrical Bias Engineer (80%/20%) you will trouble shoot on any system errors, finding long term solutions with minimal disruption to production. You will also offer expertise in electrical/electronic repairs that are need and to provide preventative measures to improve production performance. Being a strong communicator is essential as information will need to be relayed to all levels of the business. You will need to support the Head of Operations to develop and implement a PAC plan for all electrical systems. As well as assisting in formulating business cases for improving the equipment electrically. You will also be qualified to the latest electrical standard to ensure that the business electrical systems are up to date and up to the highest standard. You will be a strong advocate of Health & safety making sure the site is the safest it can be.

Requirements:

Key responsibilities:

  • You will be the first line support for any machine issues. Ensuring that machines are back up and running quickly and safely.
  • Be an expert problem solver seeing issues through until a full solution is found.
  • Work closely with production managers to ensure all work orders are complete in priority order and to provide solutions to help improve performance.
  • Become a member of the health & safety committee to ensure the site has the highest safety standards.
  • To assist or lead projects from concept through to completion, providing essential technical support to ensure the projects are a success.
  • To assist the Head of Operations in developing and delivering the PAC plan across the site to improve the over factory efficiency.
  • Ordering spare parts and stock managing the stores.

Other information:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Time served apprenticeship with a HNC certificate or equivalent.
  • HND certificate or equivalent/ IOSH training (desirable).
  • Electrical training.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working within a printing or mailing environment.
  • Self-motivated, solution driven individual with a right first time and can-do attitude.
  • Ambition to take on more responsibilities.
  • Proven expertise in fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Strong Electrical Engineer with experience working with inverter drives and PLC systems.
