Our client located in Burlington WI is looking for a skilled Software Developer with a solid accounting background to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience customizing Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) using Dexterity and VBA and possesses advanced Excel skills. This role requires an understanding of accounting principles to support and enhance our GP environment for finance and accounting functions. THIS INDIVIDUAL NEEDS TO WORK FOR US ON W2 OR W9 ONLY. C2C IS NOT SUPPORTED FOR THIS ROLE.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement customizations within Microsoft Dynamics GP using Dexterity and other native GP tools.
• Design, maintain, and enhance VBA-based applications and Excel spreadsheets for data manipulation and financial reporting.
• Collaborate closely with the accounting team to understand and support their software needs, ensuring alignment with accounting processes and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within GP customizations, particularly those impacting financial data accuracy.
• Conduct regular updates and improvements to GP, including testing and validating new features and customizations.
• Provide user training and technical support on customized features within GP, VBA, and Excel.
  
  

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience customizing Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), with expertise in Dexterity and VBA.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other core accounting functions.
• Advanced Excel skills, including macros, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently to resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with finance and technical teams.
• Experience with additional GP customization tools and methods is a plus
• Familiarity with other ERP systems and integrations preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL and report writing (SSRS, SmartList Builder) is a plus.
