JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, HHG, the Moving Coordinator is responsible for executing moving operations, including loading and unloading, and transporting customers' personal belongings using company vehicles to and from the Nippon facility. This position also involves providing guidance to part-time workers and subcontractors.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction during the moving operations
Report any issues and complaints from customers to the Manager, HHG
Perform the moving operations ensuring all cargo is handled according to company quality and safety standards
Provide guidance to part-time workers and subcontractors during the moving operations
Identify potential hazards and recommend improvements where necessary to ensure operations are conducted in a safe, orderly manner
Load the furniture and belongings of our customers onto the vehicle and unload at destination
Pick up, deliver, transport goods for export, import, and domestic moving
Ensure all cargo is secured and properly packaged for transport
Attend at both customers’ residence as well as company facility to prepare goods for shipping
Handle customer products deliveries and Self pack pickups
Manage import deliveries for shipments without Supervisor
Operate company vehicles including cargo vans and 2 - 5 ton trucks
Maintain company vehicles in a neat, orderly and efficient fashion
Conduct physical checks of received goods in the warehouse to verify accuracy against order sheets, minimizing discrepancies
Coordinate with shippers and subcontractors, monitoring and tracking shipments to ensure timely deliveries
Various other duties as may be required
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
1 to 3 years of experience in similar roles
Ability to lift and move products of various sizes and weights (up to 50lbs)
Detail-oriented, attentive to their surroundings and able to notice any possible hazards
Working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management
Ability to provide exceptional customer service
Knowledge of shipping documentation
Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions
Strong sense of professionalism
Good work ethic and capable of handling repetitive tasks
Good driving record with no significant accidents or claims
Able to work long, inconsistent hours
Fluent in the English language
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
High school diploma required
WHMIS training is an asset
Forklift certificate is an asset
Valid class 5 driver’s license
