Description
Boulder County Public Health Department is seeking to hire a
Mosquito Control Program Quality Assurance Specialist. This position performs quality assurance inspections and data analysis for the Boulder County Mosquito Control Program, which administers the Boulder County Mosquito Control District.
This is an
hourly, non-benefited position with an anticipated end date of 09/25/2025. This position will work 40 hours per week,
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position will work out of
3450 Broadway St. Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is
non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $24.04 - $27.14 Hourly
Tentative Hiring Timeline

Examples of Duties
- Implements a Quality Control/Quality Assurance project in Boulder County Mosquito Control District
- Conducts inspections and analysis of larval development sites and adult trapping locations, documenting efficacy of larval and adult control operations
- Provides education and outreach to residents regarding mosquito control around their home
- Submits regular reports and final results of the quality assurance period
- Performs data analysis to assist program planning
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

Education & Experience
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a
Bachelor of Science degree in environmental health, public health, biological sciences, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of professional experience performing technical tasks in the surveillance of larval and adult mosquitoes and control applications is highly desired
- GIS experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge in mosquito control efforts
- Ability to perform field data collection using standard mosquito sampling techniques
- Ability to use standard computer software, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, clients, outside agencies and the public
