Mobile Platform Engineering Lead

Join EY as the Engineering Lead for our Mobile Platforms Team and take charge of leading a dynamic team dedicated to designing and implementing innovative mobile solutions. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Mobile Platform Engineering team, the Mobile Analytics and Reporting function, and the Mobile Productivity Application team. The opportunity

As the Engineering Lead, you will play a crucial for the Mobile Services at EY. By guiding the development of mobile products and services within our Intune-based mobile environment, you will enhance the user experience for over 400,000 users and 350,000 enrolled devices. Your leadership will ensure that our mobile solutions are innovative, secure, and aligned with EY's strategic goals, contributing to our purpose of creating long-term value for clients, people, and society.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Mobile Platform Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the Mobile Analytics and Reporting function, ensuring data-driven decision-making and insights that enhance mobile solutions.
  • Manage the Mobile Productivity Application team, driving the development and implementation of user-centric mobile applications.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Technical Leads to align project goals and execution.
  • Provide strategic input to the Mobile Roadmap and actively participate in its realization.
  • Ensure that all mobile products and services meet quality and security standards.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues that exceed the capabilities of the support organization.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and customers across the globe.
  • Work with colleagues and customers all over the globe, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across different time zones.

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills in supported core technologies, particularly in managing large user bases, to effectively design, test, implement, troubleshoot and optimize mobile solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in English is required.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to define project plans, execute them, and manage ongoing risks and communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Vendor Management: Ability to manage strategic vendors, such as Microsoft, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective service delivery.
  • User Experience Focus: Passionate about improving user experience, with an understanding of how to measure, monitor, and enhance user satisfaction through feedback and analytics.
  • Cross-Cultural Awareness: Awareness of and sensitivity to cross-cultural dynamics, enabling effective collaboration with global teams and clients.

Training and Knowledge Sharing: Willingness to share knowledge and provide training, both virtually and hands-on, to empower team members and enhance overall team capability.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Five or more years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Intune, Mobile Device and Application Management with a thorough understanding of its design and architecture.
  • Experience in leading an Engineering team
  • Proven experience in mobile platform engineering or a related field.
  • Solution oriented mindset with the capability to design and implement creative Mobile solutions and the ability to suggest and implement solutions that meet EY’s requirements
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
  • In depth understanding of mobile technologies and security protocols, particularly within an Intune-based environment.
  • Experience with iOS and Android operating systems.
  • Ability to operate proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to suggesting and implementing new ideas.
  • Ability to explain very technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work UK working hours

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Familiarity with the latest trends in mobile technology.
  • Experience in managing and supporting large mobile environments.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance – ensure our mobile platform meets quality, performance and security standards.
  • Implementation of new products and/or service offerings.
