• Relevant Degree or Diploma will be advantageous.
• Surface Blasting Certificate for Coal Mines.
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (MMC).
• Project Management experience will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years' opencast mining experience at Management level.
• Ability to operate without supervision and be able to work under pressure.
• Comply with Health, Safety, Environment and Company Policies and Procedures.
• Legal 3.1 responsibility as per the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Training and development of employees within area of responsibility area.
• Cost Control and budget management.
• Implement and manage the complete operation, including the wash and crushing and screening plant, dispatching of coal from site and the control of multiple products.
• Quality control of multiple products to the satisfaction of clients.
• Coordination of all contractors on site as well as the flow of the correct ROM from the pits to the plant.
