Our surfacing business is run by a high performing team, we work on a wide variety of projects such as NZTA projects, across the Canterbury and Wider South Island region, private commercial jobs and minor works such as carparks. We are expanding our surfacing business with an addition of a brand-new milling machine. We are seeking a skilled Miller Operator to join our team to operate a brand new 1.3m Wirtgen Miller. Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Miller Operator to operate specialised road profiling milling machine. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient operation of machinery to profile and resurface roads with exceptional precision, helping to maintain the highest safety and quality standards in road construction projects. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate road profiler milling machine to grind and remove layers of road surfaces. Execute road profiling tasks according to required tolerances. Adjust machine settings to accommodate specific project needs and ensure the accurate profiling of surfaces. Conduct regular checks to ensure machinery is operating efficiently, maintaining road surface quality and minimizing downtime. Monitor milling operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and production timelines. Inspect and measure the finished surface for conformance to project specifications, making adjustments as needed. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on milling machines, ensuring equipment remains in good working order. Work closely with site supervisors and project teams to ensure smooth execution of road surfacing projects. Adhere to all company safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members. Manage bobcat operator & bobcat transporter. Requirements: Proven experience in operating a Wirtgen Miller as an operator . Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and precision. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and a strong commitment to safety. Must be able to travel outside of Christchurch to complete projects Be able to work during day shift or night shift as required. Asphalt paving experience advantageous but not essential. Desirable Qualifications: Experience in operating a Wirtgen milling machine and associated technologies. Full Class 2, 4, 5 license and W,T,R. Experience in operating milling machines 1.3m wide minimum is a must. Able to work both independently and as a team. Excellent communication skills. Why Join Us?
