SD Solutions seeks a Middleware Engineer SME to join our team in Washington, DC. The Middleware Engineer SME serves as a hands-on technical expert responsible for performing middleware installations, troubleshooting COTS applications, supporting test environments, resolving IRWorks tickets, and ensuring secure, compliant infrastructure support. The SME works under the guidance of senior engineers and the Program Manager to execute operational tasks and support daily delivery of Middleware services in a high-stakes, federal environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support COTS applications including WebMethods, Informatica, and SAP BOE.
• Provide daily operational support across pre-prod and production environments (PTE, SAT, PROD, DR).
• Handle IRWorks tickets, apply patches, perform health checks, and monitor system performance using Splunk and AppDynamics.
• Participate in SIT, FIT, and performance testing support for IRS programs like MeF and NTIN.
• Execute daily reporting tasks and contribute to monthly status reports.
• Assist in CM compliance, change request documentation, and version control.
• Collaborate with DBAs to ensure driver and JDBC compatibility with Oracle RAC.
  
  

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, or middleware administration.
• Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and Solaris platforms.
• Experience with ticketing systems, log analysis, and application troubleshooting.
• Exposure to IRS or federal systems is a plus.
• Basic scripting or automation experience (Ansible, Shell, or Python) is desirable.

Must have IRS MBI Public Trust

MUST have US Citizenship or Green Card

Location: This role is primarily remote but may require occasional onsite visits to IRS facilities located in Lanham, MD, and Martinsburg, WV, as needed.
