Position Summary

  • Identify and apply relevant educational research-based instructional strategies in order to develop engaging and differentiated lessons, assignments and assessments.
  • Utilize relevant technology and resources for optimal engagement and differentiation.
  • Provide timely, appropriate, and actionable feedback to students.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain and utilize accurate and comprehensive documentation and evidence of students' progress and development.
  • Collaborate with faculty on social science student events and competitions.
  • Communicate regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students with varying ability backgrounds.
  • Manage student behavior through positive behavior interventions and support.
  • Support social-emotional strategies to facilitate student development in self and social awareness and responsible decision-making.
  • Participate and engage in professional learning experiences that support professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Participate in FAUS lab school initiatives that inform instructional practices, instructional materials and resources.
  • Engage in research activities to further the school’s mission and to generate advancements in social science education and in teaching and learning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution at the time of application.
  • Hold a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or Statement of Eligibility in Middle Grades Social Science 5-9 and/or Social Science 6-12.
