JOB SUMMARY

Tory Burch Japan is seeking a Merchandising Manager for our Women’s Leather goods division. As a pivotal player with the Women’s Team, you’ll be instrumental in shaping and driving our Handbags & SLG Merchandising strategy across Japan. We are looking for someone with an exceptional understanding of products, a keen eye for trends, a comprehensive awareness of the fashion landscape and a passion for Leather goods.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive merchandise strategy that aligns with the company objectives, market trends and evolving consumer preferences.
  • Identify and interpret opportunities based on seasonal/customer trends, location specifics and execute as appropriate
  • Be accountable for the planning and implementation of merchandising strategies
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly detailed reports highlighting qualitative and quantitative insights for internal stakeholders, both local and global
  • Analyze business performance to drive sell-thru rates while minimizing markdown risks
  • Conduct thorough analyses on new launches, market competition, pricing trends and ad hoc reports
  • Support store openings, events, and network optimization, ensuring impactful Handbags & SLG offer in alignment with market needs and annual sales objectives
  • Foster an environment that welcomes changes and that promotes high level of ingenuity and creative thinking and collaboration
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with cross functional partners, Retail, VM, Marketing which includes PR & Digital
  • Manage ambiguity and problem solving through proactive, agile and resilient mindset
  • Demonstrate strength in communication and influencing skills
  • EDUCATION, PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in buying, merchandising and planning.
    • Prior experience in Handbags & SLG in the luxury fashion industry
    • Strong analytical and presentation skills
    • Excellent product sensibility
    • Strong organizational, management and leadership skills with the ability to multi-task
    • A collaborative and respectful team player with ability to make sound judgment
    • Highly flexible and adaptable, is good at dealing with ambiguity & can thrive in changing environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English
    • Proficiency in MS Office Applications and advanced in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP…)
