Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Pitman/Ladleman for our operation. The Pitman/Ladleman is a member of our Melt Department responsible for the setup and maintenance of melting equipment and assists in melting operations. Competitive wages $22.20 - $23.20, benefit/insurance package, 8 paid holidays, 401K, PTO, Vacation, Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS, and this position is eligible for Production Incentive Program. Shift: 2nd and/or 3rd shift. Employees must be capable of working any shift to cover production needs and absences as needed. Responsibilities: Assists in preheat, melting, tapping, de-gas, and pouring operations Participates in melt furnace reline Assists with ingot strips Cleans and inspects plates, molds, pouring pits, and ladles Sets up plates, molds, and stools Inspects argon plugs, top plate, and gate Performs other department duties, as assigned Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions: Must be capable of lifting up to 80 lbs regularly Exposed to heat from furnace and hot metal Exposed to seasonal temperature changes Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Proficient in interpretation and utilization of sketches Strong attention to detail Basic math skills Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces Previous foundry or construction experience preferred Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen Classification: Hourly Benefits: Eligible upon hire: Company paid/reimbursed safety shoes and prescription safety glasses.
