Position: CCS Medical Coder

Work Location: Chennai / Navi Mumbai

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign accurate codes based on documentation and coding guidelines relevant to the scope and specialty.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
• Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn new updates and guidelines.
• Apply skills acquired through training during ramp-up.
• Achieve and maintain accuracy at >95% and productivity at 100% in day-to-day coding.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience with CCS certification.
• Experience as an outpatient coder, responsible for reviewing patient files for accuracy and coding information into the computer system.
• Education: Life-science graduates, medical/paramedical professionals (physiotherapists, dentists, doctors of medicine, lab technicians, pharmacists, nurses, microbiologists, etc.).

Skills and Experience:

• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Ability to read handwritten documentation and abstract, assign, and review diagnoses and procedure codes from medical records.
• Proficiency in utilizing ICD-9-CM and/or ICD-10 for diagnosis-related group (DRG) assignments.
• Experience in reviewing patient histories, operations, chart reviews, consultation, and discharge summaries to support codes selected for billing.
• Coders will also serve as auditors, involving in auditing the work of entry-level and intermediate coders.
