Duties - Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients. - Review and verify patient information, insurance coverage, and medical records for accuracy. - Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and DRG to ensure correct billing practices. - Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the collection process for outstanding balances. - Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and communications with payers. - Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing issues. - Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance. Qualifications - Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical records management. - Experience with medical billing software and systems is preferred. - Familiarity with medical coding practices, including ICD-10 and DRG methodologies. - Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. - Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare staff. - Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is advantageous. - Knowledge of medical collection processes is a plus.
