A successful candidate will have prior experience in the medical billing industry, along with solid computer skills and a sense of urgency. Responsibilities: Determine the type of account to be entered. Enter insurance claim information into computer system. Verify insurance benefits as necessary. Retrieve and enter referral/receipt information for patient services. Determine medical necessity for referral/receipt procedures. Enter payment information. Verify and code diagnosis, procedure and supply codes for services performed; and bill for services rendered. Research medical necessity of procedures.
