The Role

As Media Trader you are at the stage in your career where you have built up your knowledge of how the media landscape we work within operates and the role we play in delivering communications for our client’s businesses. You understand the ins and outs of trading and how to ensure successful delivery of campaigns across a range of media types. You are starting to build confidence and are growing stronger in your negotiation skills. You are confident on being able to trade with the media and deliver on all outcomes successfully.

Your core role is to manage the successful delivery of campaigns across our varying product range. An Orion Trader is required to work in a collaborative manner with all members of the Orion and Mediabrands teams and with our clients. You are required to share your knowledge with the team and always strive for a growth mindset to ensure you are excelling. The role is diverse and touches many parts of the IPG Mediabrands business.

The Orion Trader will have excellent understanding of media market dynamics and trading tools, systems and processes and be able to build towards the implementation of Orion investment products across all channels for our clients (to an exceptional standard).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares day-to-day trading outputs for all clients, ensuring all elements of an approved Media Plan are delivered.
• Builds solid relationships with media partners and with all agency teams
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of our client’s business, their needs and objectives, as well as that of their core competitors.
• Ensures investment deliverables are met and the campaign delivers value to the client and the business
• Manages the invoicing on Orion Capital trading for given clients – ensuring all activity that is Orion is loaded and coded correctly and matches tracking numbers provided by networks.
• Attends and actively participate in all internal and client meetings providing timely updates on client performance and actively contributes to conversations
• Provides constant, insightful, and correct use of data (for buying).
• Supports Orion team in the delivery of any adhoc client requests generated by the agency teams.
