Summary

Job Summary: The Supplier Quality & Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for managing and resolving supplier-related manufacturing and operational issues. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure process controls are established, followed, and improved throughout the supplier's manufacturing process. The Specialist will drive corrective actions, propose improvement plans, and assist in technical audits to ensure suppliers meet quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier issue resolution and drive corrective actions across the supplier base.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, quality, production) to resolve supplier issues and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and propose supplier improvement plans to enhance manufacturing capabilities and quality standards.
  • Document key learnings and best practices (BKM) and proliferate them across the organization where applicable.
  • Assist in conducting supplier technical audits, evaluate supplier performance, and assess capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement opportunities and foster a culture of operational excellence at the supplier level.
  • Perform root cause analysis and facilitate problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D and CAPA.
  • Support the implementation of corrective actions and track their effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Supplier Development and Supplier Quality management.
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, CAPA).
  • Solid understanding of various manufacturing processes and interdependencies.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with vacuum systems and associated components.
  • Knowledge of supplier technical audit processes.
  • Proven track record of driving supplier performance improvements.
