Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
  • Facilitating area predictive/preventative maintenance program.
  • Applying RCFA methodology in daily business and formally document when applicable.
  • Taking the lead to develop an engineered solution to repeat failures.
  • Assisting in the refinement of essential care routes for mechanical first responders.
  • Work closely with the area maintenance supervisors and planners.
  • Auditing the existing PM work orders to ensure that the correct tasks are being performed and that the interval is correct for the application. Creating new PM’s as needed to maintain a reliably operation.
  • Providing oversight and direction to area lubrication program. Utilizing the lubrication suppliers to evaluate current practices and recommend possible improvements.
  • Managing reliability programs to evaluate equipment condition via vibration, ultrasound, thermography, oil analysis and alignment data as a basis for reliability improvement recommendations.
  • Supervising crews and work teams when necessary to execute reliability improvement & repair work.
  • Evolving reliability work from reactionary & time based to a condition based maintenance process.
  • Applying and expanding new technology and industry learning’s toward the work of equipment and process reliability improvement.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, pulp and paper science or related field, or the equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Experience in the mechanical maintenance/reliability field preferred.
  • Prior paper machine experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of the different aspects of papermaking including stock preparation, coating, finishing and paper machines a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.
  • Previous knowledge of SAP preferred, Microsoft office, MS Outlook e-mail.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities.
