Company Overview:

Forward Photonics is a leading laser manufacturing company specializing in the development and production of cutting-edge high-power diode laser systems. We are in search of a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical or Opto-mechanical Engineer to design and develop our high-power diode laser systems. 

Education and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing critical components and the overall laser system which ensures proper thermal management and optical stability. They will work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to design state of the art laser and optical systems.

Required:

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Opto-Mechanics, or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship
• Proficiency in simulation tools and/or finite element analysis
• Strong mechanical engineering skills and an understanding of optical physics

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Strong background in lasers, optics, and electro-optical systems.
• Familiarity with military and defense products related to electro-optical systems is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in the design of high-power laser systems, opto-mechanical components andassemblies, and thermal management.
• Proficient using SolidWorks or strong background with PTC Creo or other relating CAD software. 
• Exposed to Mil-Spec standards and possess basic GD&T and drafting skills per ASME standard. 
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
