Position Summary
Oversee and direct the performance in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. This position requires a working knowledge and background of assigned work, the ability to appreciate and resolve complex situations with assistance and see actions as a series of steps.
HSE Responsibilities
Review Pre-Task Analysis cards/SPA’s and ensure that expectations are understood and met. Mentor employees identified as having difficulty with the completion of Pre-Task Analysis cards/SPA’s.
Participate in the completion of field audits as scheduled and/or required.
Manage the CAM “Incident/Injury Reporting” process up to and including “injury management”. Requires all injuries to be immediately communicated to the client and CAM Leadership.
Participate in, and chair as required, Site Weekly Communication meetings and CAM Bi-Weekly --Communication meetings with both day and afternoon shifts.
Manage the Leadership Manual information and ensure that all employees review all material for any given year. To be reviewed on a quarterly basis.
Conduct supervisor review with all new hires.
Ensure that indoctrination and training requirements for employees are current and arrange for re-training if required.
Promote and encourage site Safety Observation Report (SOR), Safety Samplings and follow up on any issues or concerns.
Manage Short Service Worker Program with new hires
Administrative Responsibilities
Immediately respond to any indications that the CAM Alcohol & Drug Policy (A & D) requirements are not being met.
Requires the immediate reporting of any occurrences to the next level of supervision for follow-up.
Have a good understanding of the Collective Agreement, administration thereof, and utilization of cost saving opportunities within the Agreement. Assist teams in understanding boundaries as required.
Manage any performance or personal problems that may be affecting an employee’s ability to work effectively through CAM Employee Assistance programs.
Provide data for long-term and short-term employee performance reviews.
Document and log significant issues surrounding specific work or conversations (Diary).
Ensure daily timesheets are completed on time and accurate. Ensure compliance to “Helping Hands” process and assist with mediation of craft/trade conflicts in relation to new and changing roles. All time slips are logged daily.
Recommend and train back-ups for critical roles (Area Supervisors, WC, Planners, etc.).
Initiate employee recognition.
Identify and document CAM “Value Plus” opportunities.
Participate in discipline team meetings as required.
Participate in CAM and Citgo networks.
Participate in the management of conflict resolution.
Manage employees scheduled overtime to ensure fairness and cost effectiveness.
Manage / authorize Area vacations. All employees’ requests are treated fairly and are monitored to address clients / plants needs before authorizing.
Manage the tool loan process for CAM personnel and ensure understanding and alignment.
Promote a positive relationship between CAM employees and business/clients contacts.
Coach employees on our off-shift call-out process. Ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities regarding client assistance during emergencies.
Work Execution
Assist in ensuring that job assignments are matched to employee skills.
Assist in ensuring that newly hired employees are partnered with long-term employees.
Assist in the leveraging of manpower, both in and out of Areas
Monitor work process compliance and ensure that all employees are following the process.
Monitor productivity levels ensuring reasonable compliance with estimates and be prepared to make changes if required.
Provide direction with the regards to the establishment of supervision (foremen) as required.
Manage and organize, Infrastructure needs, manpower needs, jurisdictional requirements, leadership and balanced crews, short shifts, for planned and unplanned plant outages.
Respond and facilitate all upsets or plant shutdowns
Help eliminate any disconnects concerning the schedule by ensuring our folks are giving accurate updates to the scheduler.
Downsizing / Increase of employees
Work with Client in monitoring productivity issues
Participate in all RCI’s concerning CAM folks in the area
Help with the leveraging of folks between areas
Work with the planners on improving job plans
Arranged for folks after hours (call out), if on call person cannot facilitate or find folks.
Infrastructure issues and duties (managing lockers, Lunchroom facilities, etc.)
Send out daily updates of area OT to on call and CAM / EH& S leadership.
Participate in the daily 6:30 morning meeting to communicate changes to the daily schedule or crashes that come in overnight or on the weekend.
Participate in the daily updates and scheduling meetings.
Assist Leadership review craft role description and trade integration forms with crafts on a yearly basis
Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
15 years’ experience in multi-craft field supervision

Active Driver’s License
