Mechanical Estimator
Position Overview
The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC projects. This role involves collaborating with project managers and engineers to analyze project requirements, assess costs, and help the company secure profitable contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required materials.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project specifics and requirements.
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to produce accurate estimates.
- Maintain and update a database of unit costs and labor productivity rates.
- Participate in bid meetings and provide insight on estimating processes.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
