Job title: Mechanical Engineer/Designer

Position Summary

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design and generation of part and assembly drawings in 2-D and 3-D, efficiently using all available tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.), as well as documentation control for the organization. This position requires an extremely high attention to detail, the ability to interact with multiple departments in the organization and the innovation to find ways to improve service to our customers and cut internal costs.

Position Responsibilities

• Design and generate part drawings and assembly drawings in both 2-D and 3-D using SolidWorks
• Troubleshoot manufacturing problems associated with present designs
• Interact with purchasing and vendors to expedite procurement of parts when needed
• Assist sales with customer interaction to resolve production and/or design issues
• Pursue innovative ways to cut costs while improving quality
• Review all ECNs for accuracy and completeness, identifying any existing products/parts that might be affected by proposed changes
• Ensure accuracy of all ECN components (BOM, Drawings, Revisions) in all necessary systems (MAX, paper filing, electronic storage, etc.)
• Assist with documentation control as required for the organization
• Assist with tolerance and thermal analysis of new designs
  
  

Education/Experience

• ME Degree required
• 2+ yrs experience in RF/Microwave industry preferred
• Experience in using design tools, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred
• Experience with documentation control
