DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews of design submissions, technical drawings and submissions of computer generated reports and CAD/engineering drawings from mechanical consultants.
  • Evaluates submitted mechanical products and equipment for installation and suitable usage for the project requirements.
  • Discusses with engineers of other disciplines in implementation of operating processes so that technical problems can be resolved and malfunctions can be addressed.
  • Analyzes causes of equipment failures and provide reports on remedial actions needed to prevent future equipment failures.
  • Supervises the installation and operation of installed machines or equipment to ensure that they are installed as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Provides feedback to management on site, equipment and customer issues.
  • Estimates costs and value engineer bids submitted by contractors for projects undertaken by the company.
  • Researches on new technologies that can be utilized by the company for energy savings and efficiency in operations.
  • Specifies system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations.
  • Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Estimates costs on submitted bids for construction and improvement projects.
  • Evaluates mechanical designs for energy performance or environmental impact.
  • Direct the installation, operation, maintenance, or repair of renewable energy equipment, such as heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or water systems.
  • Design integrated mechanical or alternative systems, such as mechanical cooling systems with natural ventilation systems, to improve energy efficiency.
  • Calculates energy losses for buildings.
  • Establishes or coordinate the maintenance or safety procedures, service schedule, or supply of materials required to maintain machines or equipment in the prescribed condition.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Must be a Registered Mechanical Engineer


Experience:

  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in civil engineering, particularly in construction project management.
  • Proven experience in managing small to large-scale construction projects.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications, blueprints, and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.
  • Ability to conduct technical and feasibility studies.


Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze data from maps, reports, tests, and drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to creatively resolve issues between company and contractors.
  • Risk assessment and management skills.


Project Management:

  • Experience in overseeing and mentoring staff.
  • Ability to manage budgets and purchase equipment/materials.
  • Strong organizational skills to monitor progress and compile reports.
  • Familiarity with guidelines and regulations, including permits and safety standards.


Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, subcontractors, and various stakeholders.

JOB EXPECTATIONS:


  • You will be managing staff as it relates to mechanical engineering in our multiple facilities: this includes working with and communicating with teams on the landlord side as well as on the tenant side’s contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • You will create schedules for staff, watch over their work to ensure efficiency and accuracy, make sure everyone is safe, and offer advice on day-to-day activities at the site.
  • You may be asked to lead both project and progress meetings, coordinate with subcontractors and consultants, and recommend employees for promotions and adjustments.
  • You may be asked to participate in the creation of Request for Quotes for projects undertaken by the company and may be asked to participate in the opening, witnessing, and awarding of bids for repair, maintenance, new fit out, and tenant repairs for the company.
  • You may be tasked to obtain materials and calculate costs of everything from construction materials to new and used equipment, as well as ensure these supplies are available throughout the process. You will also be asked to check the quality of materials and equipment used during construction and that these materials are sourced at the best possible prices via proper comparable quotes from reputable vendors and suppliers.
  • You will create a project schedule and anticipate problems and obstacles that may delay the project. You will also help plan the construction by looking at maps, plans, and blueprints, as well as going to the field to survey the site.
  • You will make sure everything is going smoothly throughout the repair, maintenance, build-out, tenant fit out process, including ensuring project specifications and deadlines are being met, inspecting regularly for problems, and seeking ways to fix the issues that come up.
  • You must also write reports, keep detailed field notes, and log activities daily. You will also take pictures of the progress of the repairs or construction, as well as track, organize, and update documents.
  • You will also be the person in charge of coordinating with various tenants in regards to their initial buildout or renovation plans in Micronesia Mall.
  • You may be tasked with additional duties and responsibilities as the need arises that are part of your Mechanical Engineering field of expertise as well as related fields and functions.
