Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of engineering design solutions that align with the context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of building projects. The successful candidate will analyze and understand design intent to produce efficient and effective technical design solutions, collaborating closely with architecture and interior design departments to create high-quality documents. Utilizing building codes and past knowledge, you will seek out creative and accurate design solutions for each project. Responsibilities * Manage your own projects and oversee junior staff in larger projects for drafting assistance. * Create project deliverables using hand drawings, sketches, or computer software. * Utilize Revit or AutoCAD for technical deliverables and adhere to company-approved project checklists during documentation creation. * Lead and coordinate with project consultants, assist with contract administration duties, and conduct quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects. * Ensure each project complies with state and local building codes and lead construction administration duties. * Communicate effectively with ownership, consultants, contractors, the municipality, and internal staff to ensure successful project delivery. * Synthesize, interpret, and coordinate technical information to write engineering specifications for project manuals. * Demonstrate proficiency in engineering software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical engineering systems design software. Essential Skills * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture. * Minimum of 5 years of related mechanical engineering experience with a strong focus on construction documentation. * Strong organizational, technical, and project management skills. * Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracy and a deadline-driven mindset. * Effective communication skills with clients and consultants. * Strong understanding of materials and construction processes. * Fluent understanding of Autodesk Revit and Microsoft suite of programs. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Professional Engineer (PE) license is a bonus. * Experience with multi-family, commercial, retail, and/or high-end residential projects. Work Environment Our office environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and energetic, located in a new larger office near downtown Royal Oak. Office hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with half-day Fridays. We offer a family-friendly atmosphere and after training, there is an option to work remotely 1-2 days per week. As your first ME hire, you'll receive strong support from architecture and interior design teams, with opportunities for growth in a boutique-sized architectural firm.
