Mechanical Engineer (Direct hire Role)
Overland Park, KS
Salary Range: $130/year to $175/year; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Looking for a Mechanical Engineer with end-to-end project experience in data center or critical infrastructure environments, covering all project phases:
Pre-Engineering Stage:
- Conduct site surveys and risk assessments for mechanical systems.
- Engage with vendors to obtain equipment budgets and lead times.
- Assist with preliminary design/test fits and identify mechanical requirements.
Engineering Design Phase:
- Design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
- Create CAD drawings and specifications, ensuring code compliance and inter-disciplinary coordination.
- Perform value engineering and ensure compliance with CFD, acoustic, vibration, EHS, and other client-specific standards.
- Manage mechanical equipment procurement, vendor submittals, and assist in contractor selection.
Construction Phase:
- Issue drawing revisions, respond to site technical queries, and conduct site inspections.
- Oversee testing and commissioning (T&C) processes using relevant standards.
- Manage quality control, as-built documentation, and the mechanical commissioning process.
- Monitor project budget, timeline, and resources related to mechanical work.
Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the implementation of mechanical systems in construction projects. Your expertise in mechanical engineering principles, system design, and project management will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects that meet technical requirements, adhere to industry standards, and achieve client satisfaction.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or significant mechanical design experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing systems design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and engineering analysis tools, and HVAC load calculation software (e.g., TRACE 700).
- Knowledgeable in BMS.
- Strong understanding of mechanical system design principles, codes, and standards, with the ability to develop innovative and efficient solutions.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to integrate mechanical systems into building designs successfully.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes, related to mechanical systems and the ability to ensure compliance throughout the design process.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify design challenges, propose effective solutions, and make informed engineering decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to project stakeholders and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated with industry advancements and engineering best practices.
- Willingness to conduct site visits as and when necessary.
