Summary

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to design structures and bussing for switchgear, panel boards, and electrical power distribution equipment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in designing mechanical structures and bussing for sheet metal assemblies, developing and implementing engineering standards, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and customer specifications within a project management framework to meet schedule and budget requirements. Responsibilities * Design structures and bussing for switchgear, panel boards, and electrical power distribution equipment. * Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements, and incorporate directions from mentors to create designs. * Utilize 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, PDM, and SolidWorks for mechanical design. * Improve the design process using standardized practices, tools, and systems to enhance quality and productivity while reducing schedule and budget. * Evaluate and select mechanical components and fabrication parts for bussing systems, switchgear, panelboards, and control panels. * Maintain knowledge of factory equipment capabilities and performance criteria, including forming, punching, welding, milling, coating, and finishing. * Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality issues, while continuously improving design, manufacturing, and installation processes. * Support new product development initiatives. Essential Skills * Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design. * Experience with sheet metal and fabrication assembly design. * Capability to use PDM, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other 3D design tools. * Ability to support product assembly, manufacturing, testing, and field service. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Degree in relevant engineering discipline. * Experience in project coordination and management for customer orders. Work Environment The role involves collaboration in cross-functional teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues. The work environment is equipped with factory equipment for forming, punching, welding, milling, coating, and finishing. The position requires adherence to project schedules and budgets while supporting the assembly and testing processes. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
