Summary

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Lutz, FL

Job type: [Full Time, Permanent, Hourly]

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Description:

Mechanical engineer with motivation to learn and execute tasks with input and guidance from Senior Engineer and production lead. The position includes some self-management and discipline to complete assignments and documentation on time. This is a get-your-hands-dirty engineering position working directly with operations.


Responsibilities:


1. Solidworks software:

a. Competency and ability to use Solidworks software.

b. Create and maintain CAD drawings prints for tools, components and assemblies.

c. Configuration management.

d. Create and maintain BOM.

2. Support manufacturing team:

a. Assist program team with equipment adjustments.

b. Measure parts and tooling on Metrology equipment.

c. Optimize and review in-process documentation.

d. Catalog and maintain machine tooling. Track and maintain tool use/wear.

e. Maintain production equipment: Work with the production department to assist in the troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment to include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plc’s, etc.

3. Assist Quality team:

a. Assist with part number management system.

b. Work with quality team to ensure corresponding paperwork is completed for all CARs and 8D’s.

c. Assist in the development of test procedures for both manufacturing in process and quality lot approval i.e. pull test, functional test, deflection test, etc.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1-3 years experience in Manufacturing
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Familiarity with CAM programming techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with team members


Other experience/skills preferred but not required:

  • IPC-610 and IPC 620 trained
  • Knowledge of electronic and electromechanical manufacturing and assembly
  • General manufacturing and mechanical assembly


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
