The Mechanical Engineering - Co-Op/Interns may include with the design of mechanical systems, components, or fixtures, and performing basic engineering calculations. To create or modify 2D or 3D models using CAD software of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or DraftSight. Supporting the testing and validation of designs, and assisting with the creation and testing of prototypes. Documenting design process, findings, and results in technical reports and presentations. Conducting research on specific topics relevant to the project, such as material properties or design standards. Working with cross-functional teams of engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and vendors. Identifying and resolving issues related to design or manufacturing process. To provide general office support, including assisting with data-entry, filling, and communications.
Intern will also perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Prefer to have completed at least two years of a four-year BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, and heat transfer
Demonstrate problem solving ability and willingness to learn new skills
Possess good communication and organizational skills
Physical requirements: Position requires ability to lift (15 lbs.), stand, walk for long periods of time. Position may require some climbing.
