Under the general direction of engineering management, responsible for the design, analysis and troubleshooting of company products and/or components. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Develop processes to manufacture, assemble, and test, specialized fuzing products and/or components. May involve preparation of drawings; cost estimates, basic design concepts that include repair and evaluation of material discrepancies relative to the final design concept. Develop detailed information for manufacturing process equipment and procurement of the required components for high volume electronics manufacturing. Write and conduct test plans to facilitate trouble shooting and failure analysis of assemblies including getting hands of with hardware as part of the troubleshooting process. Plan and design manufacturing processes in a high rate of production environment. Determine parts and tools needed for manufacturing and testing equipment, to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Perform a variety of technical data analyses. Select concept designs and perform systems analyses using commercial analytical software. Collaborate with project teams providing input to the overall design and manufacturing, participating in design reviews, daily production meetings, and assisting in qualification, reliability and product acceptance tests. Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts to improve quality and manufacturing efficiency. This may include design and implementation of equipment and tooling to manufacture and inspect Kaman products. Experience with PFMEA a plus. Provide daily support to local and remote manufacturing sites with duplication of manufacturing processes and equipment. Lead the installation and commissioning of new capital equipment with floor plans, safety, quality, scheduling, training, and work instructions. Conduct experiments and analyze data to support process improvements. Prepare presentations for submission to team and management. Publish technical reports. Guide and assist technicians, team leads, and operators. Have ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. Ability to work and interface effectively as part of a team. Maintain records, data and other pertinent information. Research a variety of technical information and historical background data as required. Establish and maintain effective communication with internal/external customers to facilitate problem identification/resolution. Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, on design and/or process concepts throughout a diverse subject matter as well as with company employees and customers. Conduct troubleshooting as needed for product non-conformances. Qualifications: Broad knowledge of a technically specialized field of Engineering, with concentration in electro-mechanical Engineering. Ability to implement engineering designs from concept to final hardware. Working knowledge of MS office suite, including MS Project software. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field of electronics manufacturing, assembly, and testing. Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field. Master’s preferred. 5 to 7 years related experience required.
