SUMMARY Provide mechanical design and engineering support for manufacturing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Designs and implements new mechanical systems and subsystems according to approved specifications. * Participates in the development of product requirements, specifications, and schedules. * Conducts feasibility studies of various designs to determine functionality and reliability. * Performs troubleshooting of designs in conjunction with other cross-functional team members. * Works with the project management team on scheduling, improvements, and resolving design issues. * Evaluate and recommend design changes and specifications when necessary. * Conduct, coordinate, and/or supervise the product design, verification, and validation with various internal and external sources to meet product milestones. * Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of design development, including verification and validation. * Lead and participate in technical design reviews. * Capable of all aspects of engineering design from concepts to detailed drawings and 3D models using Solid Works. * Perform structural analysis as necessary utilizing SolidWorks Simulation. * Prepare specifications, data sheets, and drawings as necessary. * Review vendor proposals and drawings.
