About the Role:

An established engineering consultancy specialising in energy systems and sustainable infrastructure is seeking a Freelance Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of advanced energy solutions. This fully remote role involves occasional on-site collaboration in Hamburg and focuses on complex projects involving energy centres and renewable technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems for heating, cooling, steam, and CHP plants.
• Use Revit to create accurate technical models and drawings.
• Contribute to the planning of energy and district concepts, including distribution networks.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, high-performance energy systems.
• Ensure compliance with project standards and sustainability objectives.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally in the energy or building services sector.
• Strong proficiency in Revit (mandatory).
• Experience in designing HVAC, CHP, or district energy systems.
• Understanding of renewable energy technologies (e.g. heat pumps, biomass, solar thermal).
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup and collaborate with project teams.
• Fluent in English; German.
