Summary
Responsibilities:
Act as the primary representative for the hydraulics and pneumatics team during vehicle assembly at production facilities and workshops.
Investigate and resolve build-phase issues reported by the manufacturing and integration teams.
Coordinate with responsible design engineers and request technical guidance to resolve cross-functional team concerns.
Lead and support the design and development of sheet metal and fabricated mounting brackets.
Guide and execute CAD model creation and updates, ensuring design intent and manufacturability.
Oversee documentation of hydraulic and pneumatic line numbers, and ensure alignment with engineering schematics.
Manage the release of design solutions within the PDM system.
Drive resolution of Product Issue Logs (PIL) across development and maintenance life cycles.
Manage Product Change Requests (PCR) from initiation through final approval.
Provide regular updates to project leadership, including status reviews with technical and module leads.
Competence and Software Knowledge:
Expertise in interpreting and creating hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
Strong background in sheet metal and structural bracket design.
Solid understanding of GD&T and design for manufacturability.
Familiarity with brake and suspension systems for heavy-duty or commercial vehicles.
Advanced proficiency with CAD software such as CREO – including piping, assemblies, parts, and sheet metal modules.
In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components, including valves, lines, connectors, and layout practices.
Experience with vehicle installation packaging and integration in the commercial vehicle space.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–4 years of experience in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems within the Commercial Vehicle or Heavy Equipment sector.
Proficient in CAD software (Creo preferred).
Onsite, office-based role only.
