Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter who will be responsible for designing, creating, and revising detailed technical drawings with a primary focus on form, fit, and function. The ideal candidate is experienced in mechanical design and drafting, capable of turning engineering concepts into precise, production-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities not limited to:

Design & Drafting

• Create and revise drawings, assemblies, and parts lists based on engineering input.
• Apply industry-standard materials and specifications to component and assembly design.
• Offer design alternatives that align with form, fit, and function requirements.
• Conduct research and collaborate with internal teams and suppliers for accurate drawing development.
• Enter part data into ERP systems as needed.
  
  

Documentation & Delivery

• Ensure complete, accurate drawings are delivered within project deadlines.
• Generate subassembly and component drawings with full bill of materials (BOM) and assigned part numbers.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience designing mechanical assemblies (plate and hardware).
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2006 or later.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proficient in generating 2D design drawings.
• Understanding of mechanical components and systems focused on form, fit, and function.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and industry-standard materials.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Visio and piping assembly design.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Exposure to technical documentation and research using standards and datasheets.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Office-based position; must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs) and document retrieval required.
• Minimal travel may be required.
• Flexibility to work extra hours when needed to meet project deadlines.
