About The Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer to join our Innovation & Engineering team. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and validation of innovative mechanical solutions, working from concept through to full-scale production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Innovation Engineers, Packaging Engineers, Scientists, and Chemists, as well as external suppliers and manufacturing partners.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and hands-on engineer who enjoys technical challenges, rapid prototyping, and pushing the boundaries of innovation in the cleaning and hygiene industry.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Product Design & Development

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks).
  • Ensure systems are designed with the highest quality standards and meet technical requirements.
  • Translate concepts into production-ready solutions by working closely with manufacturing partners.

🔹 Prototyping & Testing

  • Build and test early-stage prototypes using in-house workshop and lab facilities.
  • Conduct verification and validation testing to ensure performance, robustness, and reliability.
  • Identify and implement design improvements based on testing results and field feedback.

🔹 Project Collaboration & Management

  • Work in a multidisciplinary team with Innovation Engineers, Supply Chain, and Marketing to align on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to ensure smooth development and manufacturing transitions.
  • Produce and maintain detailed engineering documentation (drawings, specifications, quality plans).
  • Support the selection and assessment of suppliers to ensure they meet technical and quality standards.

🔹 Technical Expertise & Mentorship

  • Provide technical guidance on materials, manufacturing processes, and system performance.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers within the team.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

What You Bring

Master’s degree (5+ years' experience) or Bachelor’s degree (7+ years' experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, or related field.

✅ 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design & product development.

✅ Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and tolerance analysis (GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis).

✅ Hands-on prototyping and testing skills.

✅ Experience with plastics manufacturing processes (e.g., injection moulding).

✅ Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

✅ Strong problem-solving skills and creative mindset.

✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

✅ Fluent in English (other languages are a plus).

✅ Willingness to travel within and outside Europe if required.

Bonus Skills (Preferred But Not Required)

🔹 Experience with fluid pumping, dispensing systems, and chemical compatibility.

🔹 Knowledge of water regulations and compliance standards.

🔹 Background in mechatronics, IoT, and sensor integration.

🔹 Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.
