Wood is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Designer to join its Canada business focusing on projects across the Renewables / Bioprocess sector. This opportunity is hybrid.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Designer to support our growing BioProducts team in Vancouver, BC. This role will play a key part in delivering high-quality design packages for major renewable and industrial projects across Canada.

Responsibilities
- Produce complete mechanical design and documentation packages for major projects
- Develop and coordinate 2D and 3D mechanical deliverables
- Design surface and underground facilities and infrastructure
- Collaborate daily with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and designers
- Interpret and incorporate electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural input into cohesive design
- Use industry and company standards to meet client and regulatory requirements
- Provide mechanical design support for layout and specification of equipment and piping systems
- Support both large and small projects from concept to construction
Expected
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Mechanical Designer role within an EPCM environment
- Proficiency in Autodesk tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Inventor, and Navisworks
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to drafting standards and quality control processes
- Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
Desirable
- Experience in pulp and paper industry projects
- Experience with MicroStation
- Familiarity with engineering drawings from all disciplines
- Field experience on client sites
