JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION - South Yorkshire

TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £32,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering company based in South Yorkshire who are looking to bring on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team. The ideal candidate will have experience using Fusion 360.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC etc.)
• 2+ years of industry experience in a mechanical design role
• Proficiency in Fusion 360 is essential
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly
• Strong technical drawing and 3D modelling skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication and organisational skills

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Creating 3D models and detailed technical drawings using Fusion 360
• Developing new products and improving existing designs
• Collaborating with other departments including production, R&D, and procurement
• Producing BOMs and technical documentation for manufacture
• Participating in design reviews and contributing to project development
• Supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation activities
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and customer specifications
