Job Summary

Mechanical Design Engineer needed for a client just outside of Washington DC. Looking for someone who has good experience with desiging custom automated machinery. Salary for this role will be based on experience.

BS in mechanical engineering

3 - 5+ years of experience in field or related area.

Proficient in Solidworks.

Exposure to CE and OSHA guarding

Responsibilities

Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research, applying principles of mechanics, hydraulics, etc.

• Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, and possible new applications, including necessity of modification.
• Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods
• Develop manufacturing process by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, assembling, and installing components.
• Eliminate cost for engineering and related projects.
• Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Recommend design modification to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Provide customer technical support.
