Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Solidworks to join our team. The role involves both design work and hands-on fabrication, taking projects from initial design through to fabricating test articles, proof of concept, and testing. You will be supporting a program focused on redesigning major components on Blackhawk helicopters, moving from CAD models to detailed drawings.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components using Solidworks.
- Engage in hands-on fabrication of test articles and prototypes.
- Support the redesign of major components for the Blackhawk program.
- Transition designs from CAD models to detailed technical drawings.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to identify and solve engineering problems.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Solidworks with 3-5 years of experience.
- Strong background in mechanical design and engineering.
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Solidworks certification is a plus.
- Experience in CAD design.
- Knowledge of aerospace engineering principles.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Huntsville, AL, working with a small team of six engineers. The environment is collaborative, with two operations managers who also perform engineering tasks, alongside two remote engineers. The role requires agility and problem-solving skills, with approximately 70% of time spent on designing and 30% on hands-on fabrication. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $40.90/hr.
