My client is a specialized energy company, founded by a highly experienced management team where they develop, design, construct, operate, fund and maintain multi-technology assets to enable zero carbon for energy users. The main technology used in their projects are solar PV, battery energy storage and heat pumps.

They are looking for a new Mechanical Design Engineer due to continued project growth in the business for their team. You will be responsible for mechanical engineering, process design, computer-aided design and project management.

The successful candidate will design complex high temperature heat pump systems, and integrate them to the client’s process.

Responsibilities:

• Analysing customer infrastructure and proposing solutions.
• Engineering design to validate those solutions and detail energy balances, predicted performance etc.
• Engineering design to validate those solutions and detailed supporting calculations to back up those solutions.
• Overseeing detailed design by less experienced engineers and consultants.
• Attending project construction and design meetings and customer meetings.
• Coming up with engineering solutions for our customers,
• Create detailed mechanical design plans, drawings, and specifications, adhering to local building codes and industry standards.
• Assist in project management by coordinating with teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring designs meet client expectations.
• Review and approve mechanical designs to ensure performance, accuracy, functionality, and safety.

Relevant Experience:

• Some knowledge of heat pump and/or solar projects is ideal
• Bachelors (Level 8) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree
• A knowledge of CAD
• A Knowledge of LV/MV systems
• Valid Full Drivers License is ideal
