What are we looking for in our Mechanical Design Engineer ?
The Science Team at Russell Tobin & Associates is supporting a biotech organization that has an opening for Manufacturing Engineer near Boston, MA!
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the construction and wiring of custom automated lab devices
Assist in building new equipment as part of a long-term project, including hands-on work with CAD drawing and wiring integration.
Help relocate and redesign lab equipment, integrating multiple instruments with actuators.
Work in the on-site machine shop to cut, make, drill, and wire aluminum components.
Support functional testing and analysis of equipment
Operate power tools and machine shop equipment (e.g., drills, saws)
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electromechanical equipment
Assemble multi-level electro-mechanical sub-assemblies into complex systems
Improve and document manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes
Contribute to process optimization and efficiency improvements
Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Hands-on experience with electromechanical projects
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Familiarity with microprocessor programming
Willingness to learn LEAN manufacturing concepts
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Additional Details:
6 month with potential for extension beyond one year.
Pay rate range approved: $35-40/hr
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
