ROLE: Building Services (Mechanical) Design Engineer

SALARY: £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE)

LOCATION: Nationwide (Flexible – Site, Office & Home)

THE COMPANY:

We are currently working with a leading building services business, based in Birmingham, who are looking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join their team.

DUTIES:

• Lead pre-construction activities, including site surveys and validation
• Manage the design process from Stage 3 to Stage 5 (or beyond)
• Balance budgets, timescales & compliance to develop buildable designs
• Work closely with clients, specialists & project managers
• Produce handover documentation (O&M’s, As-Fitted Drawings, Certifications)
• Oversee the commercial success of design-only projects

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical building services design, with experience across HVAC, plumbing, drainage & specialist systems.

You should have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in detailed mechanical design
• HNC or equivalent in Building Services Engineering
• Strong AutoCAD 2D skills (Revit experience is a bonus!)
• Proficiency in MEPWorx (Cymap) or Hevacomp (training available)
• Excellent time management & organisational skills
• Full UK Driving License (6 points or less)
• Willingness to travel nationwide for site visits & meetings
