We are a state-of-the-art, patient-centered ambulatory surgical center dedicated to providing exceptional care in Ophthalmology and ENT. Our team is committed to excellence in both clinical outcomes and operational performance—and we’re looking for a Materials Manager who will ensure our supplies, equipment, and environment are fully aligned with that mission.
As the Materials Manager, you will oversee all purchasing, inventory, and facility support functions. This includes the procurement of surgical supplies and implants, vendor relations, invoice reconciliation, building maintenance coordination, and promoting cost-effective supply chain practices. You'll play a vital role in keeping our surgical center running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Inventory:
- Order, receive, and track medical supplies, implants, and surgical equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal par levels
- Work with Business Office Manager to reconcile invoices, match packing slips and purchase orders, and coordinate vendor credits
- Monitor usage trends and anticipate demand based on surgical schedules
- Conduct price comparisons and maintain cost-efficient supply chain operations
Vendor & Equipment Management:
- Serve as primary liaison with vendors and sales reps
- Research new equipment and supplies requested by physicians
- Maintain records of warranties, preventive maintenance, and service contracts
- Track product recalls and coordinate removal as needed
Facility Maintenance & Safety:
- Oversee building maintenance and act as liaison with property management
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and maintain logs for gas, warmers, biohazard waste, eyewash stations, and more
- Respond appropriately to equipment issues and emergencies
Team Communication & Compliance:
- Work closely with clinical, scheduling, and administrative teams to coordinate needs
- Support compliance, infection control, and quality improvement efforts
- Participate in case-cost reviews and capital budgeting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in materials management or healthcare supply chain (ASC experience preferred)
- Knowledge of surgical supplies, especially ophthalmology and ENT products
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory systems
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
