Toys R Us Canada, proud to be Canadian owned and operated, has a full time opportunity for a full-time Material Handler in the Receiving department on the day shift. This position is performed in our Concord Distribution Centre.

Shift Times: Monday to Friday, 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Read and match labels to product to ensure quality standards are met at each stage. Verify that Sku / Manufacturer’s number matches the physical merchandise and carton label.
• Verify that the quantities received match the quantities that are being shipped to ensure accuracy. Validate labels matched against vendor’s shipment.
• Report any discrepancies (shortage / overage) or damages to the Supervisor.
• Load and unload cartons either manually or by using powered equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Confirm product integrity by verifying that the physical product carton count received matches documentation.
• Ensure proper pallet count as indicated on the receiver or create a new pallet count.
• Perform stacking duties, manual and inner / piece breakdown as required
• Wrapping duties as required.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment and powered equipment, namely the Walkie Rider
• Inspect all powered equipment and complete the daily inspection sheet before operation of any powered equipment.
• Ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner
• Maintain your work area in a safe and organized manner, ensuring housekeeping standards are adhered to.
• Comply with Toys”R”Us Health and Safety policies, procedures and standards and with the OHSA.
• Must be able to meet all productivity standards established by the company.

Qualifications:

• Previous receiving experience, including inbound shipments, bills of lading, data integrity and sku verification
• Must have prior experience with using computers and possess basic computer skills
• Must have previous experience and hold a valid Walkie Rider license
• Must have high initiative, integrity and dependability to function effectively as a team player
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position (able to lift up to 40 lbs)
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic English comprehension and mathematical skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize work and resolve issues effectively
