The Material Handler is responsible for conducting the various functions incumbent in warehouse operations. This includes shipping, receiving, inventory operations, order picking, and material transport.
Primary Responsibilities
Always exemplify the Alpine safety culture and serve as a role model for fellow employees.
Complete order receipts, ensuring received material and quantities are accurate to bills of lading / packing slips.
Put away received inventory into designated storage locations, packing and unpacking as necessary to achieve required storage conditions.
Pick materials and deliver to correct locations on time according to generated pick lists.
Store inventory in an orderly and accessible manner.
Ensure traceability is always maintained for all parts according to established policies by way of easy identification.
Maintain records according to established policies and procedures.
Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Operate equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, or order pickers.
Conduct kitting operations to fulfill sales orders or internal requests.
Construct and prepare packing containers and supplies in accordance with instructions and best practices to prevent damage to items being transported.
Record pertinent shipment data or discrepancies for reporting and recordkeeping purposes.
Conduct periodic counts of inventory to ensure perpetual inventory accuracy.
Report damage or defects of all inventory and/or storage locations to quality personnel.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with safety processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to use forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment.
Must be able to work overtime as required to meet production's needs as well as flexibility to work around scheduled production hours.
Moderate proficiency in one of shipping, receiving, or inventory operations, familiar with the operations of the other two.
