Summary

Job Summary:

The Master Trainer provides strategic and operational leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Enabling Skills for Life Programme (ESLP), which empowers Persons with Disabilities (PWD) by equipping them with essential independent living and vocational skills. The role involves leading and refining curriculum design, training and mentoring staff, and capability building.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Curriculum Design, Implementation and Evaluation

  • Leads the development, review, and refinement of the Centre-wide ESLP curriculum and associated teaching practices. There should be a smooth transition from Special School (SPED) curriculum to ESLP on both independent living and vocational skills.
  • Ensures curriculum content is aligned with evidence-based practices and customized to the varied needs and abilities of PWDs.
  • Develops and manages systems for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting programme and learner outcomes.

2. Programme Development and Standardization

  • Establishes and documents procedures, protocols, and best practices for programme delivery, intervention strategies, and teaching methodologies.
  • Ensures quality assurance and fidelity across all centers offering the ESLP.
  • Networks and fosters partnerships that promote inclusive practices, vocational opportunities, and community participation for PWDs, as part of the curriculum.

3. Training, Supervision and Mentorship

  • Designs and delivers professional development workshops on evidence-based teaching and intervention practices.
  • Provides direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to Training Officers and other allied health professionals such as Occupational therapists, social workers and psychologists staff, nurturing a culture of reflective practice and continuous learning.
  • Develops staff competency frameworks and career pathways to support professional growth.


4. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.



Job Holder Requirements:

Education:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, Allied Health, or a related field.
  • Training certification is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience working with persons with disabilities, particularly in Special Schools settings working with the age group 16-21 years old, educational or vocational training settings.
  • Strong background and proven experience in curriculum design, and development for Special Schools or similar specialized settings.
  • Demonstrated experience leading programme development, guiding and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in conducting supervision, training, coaching, or mentoring staff in the disability or education sector.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of evidence-based practices in special education, vocational training, and independent living skills.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Commitment to person-centered, strength-based approaches and principles of inclusion.
