The Opportunity

The Master Scheduler formulates and maintains production schedules for all production work centers to ensure the production schedule execution. This role ensures that production processes run efficiently, meeting customer demands while maintaining cost-effectiveness and high-quality standards. The Master Scheduler works closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Engineering, Customer Service, and Sales to develop schedules that maximize productivity and minimize delays.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes, manages, reviews, and maintains production schedules for all of production work centers to ensure that the master production schedule is being executed based on delivery expectations, capacity, and material availability, utilizing ERP system.
  • Daily analysis, planning, and review of work center and labor capacity based on requirements.
  • Maintain effective communications with internal customers regarding inventory accuracy, engineering changes, and shop order statuses.
  • Analyze safety stock levels and other planning data for service levels and inventory turns while improving service/lead time.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with production management and supply chain. Then work to resolve gaps between supply capabilities and production plans.
  • Generate lead-time quotes on potential orders or projects, then suggest delivery dates to customer service or sales.
  • Analyzes sales forecasts and helps to create capacity plans and monitor demand patterns and production volumes. Facilitates a monthly operational demand forecast planning process for multiple business segments.
  • Develops metrics to monitor forecasts at all levels of the process and ensures root-cause analysis and collaborative corrective actions are completed.
  • Implement and execute lean manufacturing in materials planning with accurate consumption projections and a strong internal relationship with production operations.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or similar related field
  • APICS or equivalent Supply Chain certification (preferred)
  • 3 years experience in manufacturing production scheduling
  • Proficiency in ERP and/or MRP systems (IFS, Oracle, or similar preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong math and analytical skills as well as written and verbal communication
