About our Team

We are looking for a Markets Editor to join our editorial team in Singapore, covering developments in a portfolio of petrochemical markets.


About the Role

You will assess prices on a daily or weekly basis, produce market intelligence and in-depth analytical content. You thrive on breaking exclusive news and being the first to get the information out to the market. The role will be investigating and explaining what this means for our customers.


Responsibilities

  • Covering a portfolio of petrochemical markets in Asia - produce daily and/or weekly price assessments. Meet regular and timely deadlines with the highest level of accuracy and balance.
  • Writing insightful news and analysis explaining price trends and market developments for the region including regional overviews and outlooks
  • Chasing stories proactively across your portfolio
  • Building and nurturing a wide network of industry contacts
  • Tracking changes in demand, supply, trade flows as well as related markets and contribute to updating relevant databases
  • Reporting on complex topics in an engaging and timely manner through the use of data visualizations
  • Delivering presentations at conferences/client visits including business travel to industry events
  • Contributing to thought leadership content through channels such as podcasts and videos


Requirements

  • Have academic qualifications in journalism, chemical engineering, business/finance, economics or similar
  • Be able to write and communicate with clarity
  • Have knowledge or interest in market economics
  • Have a high level of numerical accuracy and excellent analytical skills
  • Have excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Experience of working with Excel/Excel-based business tools
  • Be a passionate, curious, high-performing, accountable team player
