Position Overview
The Marketing Specialist is to play a key role proactively in driving the implementation of effective brand and product strategies and plans in Japan to deliver sustainable business growth in regard to sales and profitability by deep understanding of Market/Trades to make intelligent decisions, chart the course, and captain the product toward its intended destination. Improve product portfolio through new product development and other activities, so that we can increase overall company’s profitability. Also this role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of any agreed contingency activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the brand management initiatives based on agreed strategies and plans by channel and customers.
- Lead the concepting and project management of Japan-led new products, including line extensions, EPD (Existing Product Development) and new innovations. Manage NPD process ensuring incorporation of trade related issues in the planning i.e. NB/PB 50:50. This includes identifying new product development opportunities, packaging, go-to-market activities and ensuring account review timings are met.
- Act as the primary Japanese market contact for global NPDs, ensuring localization of product concepts and coordination with Global HQ Marketing to brief and provide feedback on packaging design, insuring it aligns with the brand identity and Japanese market preferences.
- Provides specific input and requirements with Sr. Manager and escalate to Global HQ Marketing in the Global platform as part of strategic plan development for the category.
- Responsible for net sales, cost spending control, profit margin and market shares for the category.
- Demonstration of an understanding of the wider company needs and priorities (beyond assigned category) and actively seeks to drive improvement in business processes, add value to broader business issues and seeks to identify opportunities to improve business performance and profitability
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3years of experiences in FMCG with 2years + experiences of Product Development.
- Experience: Experiences of Marketing Mix (ATL / BTL) plan development and execution.
- Experience: Excellent analytical and project management skills. Strong consumer in minds.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Language: Japanese: native level, English: Business Level
