MOD BIKES is seeking a highly strategic and execution-minded Marketing Director to lead all marketing functions, brand development, campaign execution, customer retention, public relations, and digital growth. This role bridges high-level strategy with hands-on management, working cross-functionally to drive visibility and loyalty across local and national and local markets.

You?ll oversee internal resources and external freelancers/agencies to implement high-impact, multi-channel campaigns. From overseeing ad budgets and brand voice to reporting on KPIs and guiding team performance, this is a key leadership role in the company?s next phase of growth.

Purpose

The Marketing Director aligns all marketing efforts with MOD BIKES? mission and vision guiding strategic direction, brand consistency, and business impact through creative, data-driven execution. Every initiative should reflect the company?s values, brand and deliver value to our growing community of electric bike enthusiasts.

Duties

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and execute the annual and quarterly marketing strategy
  • Define customer segments, target groups, and buyer journeys
  • Lead brand development across messaging, tone, and positioning
  • Oversee execution of Klaviyo campaigns by agencies, freelancers, or internal team members.
  • Align marketing calendar with sales, launches, and promotions
  • Set and manage budgets and financial goals for marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure marketing aligns with company goals

Campaign Management & Execution

  • Build and manage cohesive multi-channel campaigns (email, social, in-store, digital, PR, etc.)
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize for engagement and ROI
  • Develop promotional strategies including seasonal campaigns, discounts, and loyalty rewards
  • Oversee development of creative assets and ensure timely approvals
  • Ensure alignment across digital and physical channels

Retention Marketing (Email & SMS)

  • Oversee agency/freelancer/employee execution of Klaviyo campaigns
  • Maintain quality control of copy, visuals, and audience grouping
  • Approve all campaigns and monitor conversion results

Paid Media & PR Oversight

  • Oversee paid advertising strategy across Meta, Google, and local channels
  • Monitor ad performance (CPA, ROAS) and adjust budget as needed
  • Supervise influencer and affiliate partnerships to maximize brand visibility

Digital & Social Media Management

  • Manage or supervise content creation and scheduling
  • Maintain brand voice and engagement on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube
  • Stay current on trends, tools, and local digital marketing opportunities

Website & Platform Management

  • Coordinate Shopify updates, promotions, user experience, SEO, and conversion improvements
  • Ensure product launches and campaigns are reflected on-site
  • Optimize site performance with contractors (SEO/CRO specialists)

Organizational & Operational Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized digital marketing assets across company platforms
  • Supervise organization and preparation of event materials, banners, and promotional displays.
  • Ensure collaborative MOD software platforms (Whale, Google Drive, Slack) are up to date
  • Monitor campaign issues and report feedback to sales, service, or product teams

Supervisory & Vendor Management

  • Oversee contractors, social media managers, freelancer, photographers, videographers, designers, media buyers, and agencies
  • Review performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Manage project schedules and deliverables across teams and campaigns
  • Coordinate vendor payments and maintain budgets in collaboration with finance
  • Onboard and cultivate strong working relationships with social influencers and freelancers

Marketing Performance & Optimization

  • Track KPIs across all channels (traffic, conversions, CTR, CPA, LTV, ROAS, social reach, etc.)
  • Use insights to optimize content, targeting, messaging, and budget allocations
  • Develop and improve SOPs and workflows for execution and communication
  • Reallocate resources dynamically to maximize efficiency and results

Technology Ownership

  • Project Management: Asana (task assignments, deadlines, project tracking)
  • Communication: Slack (channel management and team coordination)
  • Analytics & Reporting: Google Analytics, GA4, Meta Insights
  • Email/SMS: Klaviyo
  • Advertising: Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads
  • Social Tools: Later, Meta Business Suite
  • Web Platform: Shopify (product, promotions, site UX)
  • Design: Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a marketing leadership role
  • Demonstrated success managing hybrid teams and external agencies
  • Strong expertise in digital marketing, paid media, and brand development
  • Analytical thinker with data-driven decision-making skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growth-oriented environment
  • Excellent communicator and proactive project manager
  • Must be based in Austin, TX or able to attend regular hybrid/in-person meetings
