Job Summary

Prestone is seeking a passionate and experienced Marketing Director to play a strategic role in managing our North American Light Duty Category. This position will be reporting to the VP of Marketing Innovation, Branding & Portfolio Management, and will be managing one direct report. The role is based at our Rosemont office and will require a local candidate for a hybrid work schedule, with a 25% travel expectation.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop fact-based Business Reviews for the different categories both for internal and external purposes
  • Define the strategic vision and establish a clear portfolio approach (inclusive of sku rationalization) across the different brands
  • Develop a roadmap and innovation calendar for the different categories and brands
  • Work in close collaboration with PMO, R&D, legal and regulatory for all product related enquiries and developments
  • Create marketing plans to support the brands and launches
  • Work effectively with advertising, promotional, research agencies, consultants, vendors, etc.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure the execution of the marketing plans with key retailers/customers
  • Recommend a go-to-market strategy for both the US and Canadian market
  • Analyze market & consumer research, interpret data, identify trends and to make recommendations
  • Creative mindset; developing new ideas and perspectives, building innovation plans in a competitive market environment.
  • Develop product & marketing strategies, communicating recommendations to management

Qualifications & Skills

  • University Degree in Marketing or Commerce preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with brand building, product portfolio management & marketing experience in a CPG company/industrial company
  • Experience with North American retailers such as Walmart, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, AutoZone or Napa
  • Understanding of product specifications and usage, experience in new product development and demonstrated successful product launches across multiple channels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong presentation skills
  • Good written skills for creating business plans, proposals, internal reports
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent technical aptitude, ability to run analysis (Power BI, Circana/Krunchbox)
  • Experience in briefing agencies (both research and advertising), in evaluating their work and giving feedback
  • Proficiency in digital, social media and e-commerce as platforms to reach consumers
  • Knowledge of budgeting, pricing strategy, and margin management
  • Solution-oriented thinker, passionate collaborator, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Bilingual English/French is a plus


The expected compensation for this position is a base salary of $125,000-$145,000 annually (bonus eligible), depending on experience and qualifications.
